Faoin am a léann tú é seo beidh Bl4 amuigh ag cabhrú leis an bpobal i gcoitinne agus iad ag tabhairt faoin obair dheonach ar feadh seachtaine. Bhí mí an-ghníomhach acu - Bricfeasta Childline le bl1, Dráma raidio i Rua Red, comórtais eiltpheile, peile agus iománaíochta, turais chuig Maigh Eo, Gig grinn san Olympia, Cill Maighneáin, Ceardlann tógáil foirne agus aoichainteoirí ón VdeP, Focus Ireland agus neart eile freisin! D'éirigh linn €200 a bhailiú d'obair Childline. Bí ag súil leis na tuairiscí míosúla ag teacht sa phost sula i bhfad! Bí ullamh don Nollaig - beimid ag canadh san ospidéal le San Nioclás agus ag bailiú ar son an VdeP freisin.

By the time you read this, 4th years will be off helping the community as they undertake the week of voluntary work experience. It's been a busy month - the Childline breakfast, a radio play in Rua Red, volleyball, hurling, and football competitions, trips to Mayo, a comedy gig in the Olympia and Kilmainham Gaol, a team-building workshop, guestspeakers from the VdeP, Focus Ireland and lots more besides! We raised €200 for Childline. Keep an eye out for the monthly reports coming your way in the post next week! Christmas is nearly upon us and we'll be practicing hard for singing with Santa in the Children's Hospital and collecting for the VdeP.

D'imir ár gcailíní Bl 4 i gcomórtas Eitpheile Cadettes le déanaí. Seo a gcéad uair ag imirt an spórt seo riamh. Chailleamar i gcoinne Sy Marys, Nás na Rí sa chéad cluiche 2-0 cé go raibh an dara tacar an -chóngarach. Sa dara cluiche bhí deiseanna maithe againn i gcoinne Presentation Terenure ach arís chailleamar 2-0.
Cé go raibh díoma orainn i ndiaidh an dara cluiche a chailliúnt, d'imir na cailíní thar barr i gcoinne Coláiste Bhríde, Cluain Dolcáin. Sár cluiche a bhí ann. Chailleamar an chéad tacar 23-25. Bhí an bua againn sa dara tacar 26-24. Chuaigh an cluiche go dti an triú tacar agus bhí an bua againn 25-16. Cluiche den scoth a bhi ann agus éacht mór é do's na cailíní cluiche amháin a bhuachaint in a gcéad comórtas. Tá deis againn dul ar aghaidh sa chomórtas má bhuafaimíd i gcoinne St Pauls, Greenhills i gceann cúpla seachtaine.

Our Fourth Year girls competed in a Volleyball competition for the first time recently. We were beaten two sets to nil, even though the second set in particular was very close. We had great chances in the second game versus Presentation Terenure but unfortunately we lost this one 2-0 also.

Even though we were very disappointed to lose the secone game, the girls rose to the challenge and played very well against Coláiste Bríde, Clondalkin. Having lost the first set 23-25, we won the second set 26-24. In a very tense third set we emerged victorious 25-16. It was a great acheivement for the girls to have even won a single game in their first competition. We now have an opportunity to advance in the competition if we beat St Pauls, Greenhills in the last remaining fixture.

Comhghairdeas

Comhghairdeas le hAoife Ni Mhurchú(bl 5) a raibh gearrliostaithe do chraobh fuála igColáiste San Aingeal, Sligeach. Cuireadh a hobair ar taispeántas chomh maith le hobair na hiomaitheoirí eile. Is iontach an éacht é seo!

Rua Red Arís... (Take 2)

Tá daltaí ón Idirbhliain ag tapú deis iontach tugtha dóibh ag daltaí ón Idirbhliain anuraidh. Bhí daltaí na bliana seo caite bainteach le ceardlann dráma raidió agus tá deis níos fearr faighte ag an Idirbhliain i mbliana de dheasca na crua oibre sin. Tugadh cistíocht den scéim trí Scríbhneoirí sa Leabharlann (Éigse Éireann) i gcomhairle le Leabharlann an Chontae, Tamhlacht. Le mí anuas, tá na scoláirí ag obair leis an aisteoir Phil Kingtson agus John Gough (Curious Broadcast) i Leabharlann an Chontae agus Rua Red. Tá siad siúd atá ag glacadh páirt ag foghlaim scileanna nua m.sh léiriú fuaime, stiúrthóireacht, ag scríobh blag ar líne agus ag cur sean scileanna i bhfeabhas m.sh. scríobh agus aisteoireacht. Tá an tionscanamh ceangailte le hAmharclann na Mainistreach le déanaí, a bhfeicfidh an tionscanamh aistrithe go Gaeilge agus úsáidte mar scéim píolótach dá gcuid oibre le scoileanna sa todhchaí. Tuilleadh eolais ag teacht bhur mbealaí faoi gan mhoill.

Students from Transition Year having been enjoying a fantastic opportunity due to the hard work of their Transition Year peers from last year. Students who were involved in a radio drama workshop have secured a greater opportunity for this year's TY group. Funding has been awarded to the project by Writers in Libraries (Poetry Ireland) in conjunction with The County Library, Tallaght. For the last month, students have been working with the actor Phil Kingston and John Gough (Curious Broadcast) in the County Library and Rua Red. Those involved are learning new skills such as sound production, direction and online blog writing and honing old ones, such as writing and acting. The project has recently been linked to the Abbey Theatre, which will see the project translated to Irish and used as a pilot scheme for their future work with schools. Watch this space.
